Training helps workers understand what to expect when transitioning from their home culture to their service culture.
Participants tell us they find CIT to be essential preparation emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically. There will be topics that you undoubtedly are already familiar with, but you will also come away with new information or a new way of looking at it that you’ve not seen before.
The community is essential as it encourages relationships and unity. Much of the learning takes place outside of the classroom as participants discuss and share with each other outside of class. Many have said that this was the first time they experienced true community in a loving and safe environment.
A great value of this training is being with like-minded people who are in the same situation you are in–raising support, downsizing belongings, leaving family and friends, and preparing to take the big step of moving overseas.
